Commercial Description:
Malted wheat and the choicest American barley are combined with a blend of noble hops to create this light, fruity, refreshing beer. Brewed in the style of the American beer renaissance, Blue Star is unfiltered, the yeast adding a complex note to the flavor profile. It's especially good with a slice of lemon!

Bottled. Hazed golden body. Medium white head. Aroma is faint, to me. Light wheat and citrus and very light yeast. As I had this after several beers last night, maybe that had an effect on the aroma, but it seemed really weak. The flavor was a bit better. Wheat, more citrus, light yeast notes, thinned malts and mild hops. The body was light and a bit refreshing. Very good summer beer, indeed. Finishes with more wheat and yeast . Minimal hops and the citrus is still there.

Pours a cloudy golden orange with a quickly fading white head. Light malty aroma. Taste has a good amount of sweetness, no bitterness detected. Has notes of lemon and wheat. Medium mouthfeel. Overall, it’s ok but its missing a lot of flavor.

bottle-pours an apricot hue with a nice smooth white head. This is a pretty good looking wheat. Estery, spicy, fruity, citrus aroma-flavors are grasy, a little vegtable-tastes kinda like buckwheat pancakes. mild hop notes in the finish that leaves a dry feeling in the mouth. average american wheat beer.

Cloudy Orange/gold, big rocky white head. Dusty, dry wheat aroma, and subtle wheat presence throughout. Nice, but ultimatley a bit too understated. Sampled at Asheville Brewgrass Festival 2004.

Bottle: Nice citrus and malt aroma. Pours a pale yellow with a nice white head that lasts a little more than a minute. Real nice malty and citrus flavosr. Light bitterness in the finish. Light citrus aftertaste. Very drinkable. A nice wheat beer.

Slightly hazy golden colour with a large dense cream coloured head with tons of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Nice appearance! Aroma of fresh low a.a. hops (not much, but enough to notice), wheat, cardboard and some lemons. Without looking, I would assume this is an APA, not a wheat. Light-bodied; Mild citrus flavour with a small amount of hops peddling by. Some malt is noticeable, but the [common] wheatie flavours are lacking. No coriander seed to speak of, no bubble gum and no cloves, but this one does share a nice freshness via hops. Aftertaste is clean and light, hops are noticeable but so is the lemon. Overall, a very nice beer, perfect for the summer...I was not expecting this one at all, but I was pleasantly surprised! A great beer by North Coast! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 26-September-2004.
