Aroma of sweet prune, nutmeg, raisin, muddled yet complex, somewhat yeasty, and a bit of bubblegum... Taste of Raisin, and bubblegum, a bit sweet, and dry, strange sensation... Finishes odd, full bodied... Disappointing, but now i know what raisin flavored bubblegum would taste like... robertjm (414), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2009 (12oz. bottle) Good carbonation upon opening. Pours very full head. Damn near overflowed the rim with foam. Looks like I could float a dime on top (if I were into wasting good beer.). Somewhat dark brown body which light penetrates. Light "Belgian" aroma. Not overpowering. Average body and mouth feel. Nice raisin flavor which lingers in the mouth, chased with dark brown sugar. Slight warming in the throat, but not overly like a higher alcohol brew would be. . Cavie (1509), Fort Worth, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2009 A perfect cloud look for a beer. Excellent head. Dark fruit and alchol flavor. It can seem a bit acidic and unpleasant at first, however with a few sips, and learning to drink toward the back of the mouth, the flavor is very pleasant. Stong alchol content and relaxing aftertone. Strykzone (1501), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 4, 2009 Dark reddish brown brew with a nice tan head. Nose is sweet dark fruit, malt, must, and raisin. This beer has a vinous quality to it. It offers flavors of sugar, alcohol, dark fruit, must (again), and a sophisticated Old World feel. It is just a bit over sweet but is still quite tasty. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Dark orange/brown pour with thin white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet, with notes of belgian candy sugar, toffee and caramel...some alcohol also detectable. Flavor is also sweet...dark sugars, toffee and some hints of fig. Minimal hop presence. Some alcohol warming on the back of the throat. Mouthfeel is quite carbonated, as is typical of a Belgian. Only downside is a clingy aftertaste on the tongue, indescribable but a bit unpleasant. 6ROW (274), corpus christi, Texas, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Fig and smokey roasted malt smell with caramel and molasses.
Mahogany color with an off tan head and lots of action. Sediment was difficult to see and swirled a bit around and topped this off just in case.
Lots of flavors including a buttery roasted malt, caramel, molasses, and some fig with a sweet tea finish.
Medium to full bodied, buttery and resinous, lively soft carbonation, and an alcohol warming throughout.
Yummy and the buttery effect suggest the sediment was liquified.
