Aug 17, 2008 Tap at the Red Feather - Dark copper ale with a small off white head, aroma of spice, yeast and malt, this was a damn good brew...tons of coriander, clove, dry fruit, molassas malt...alcohol is ever present but in a way that complements the other senses, like you are glad it isn’t hidden too far away...incredible surprise, will be coming back for more...

Aug 16, 2008 There is a beautiful ruby and copper color to this beer when you pour it into the glass. As soon as you smell this beer it brings you right back to the powerful fumes of Belgium. With that specific strong Belgian ale flavor, it is surprising this was brewed in Cali and not Belgium.

Aug 14, 2008 Pours a nice dark and clear root beer brown with a nice fluffy caramel head that didnt last too long. Aromas of bread, yeast, and caramel malts. Thick and very sweet on the palate. Heavy malt flavors with a mild hop aftertaste on the backside. I like this and would buy it again. I’m recork the bottle and put it with my keepers. Way to cool for skool label. I found this brew in a small shop on Rt-1, Coastal Highway a couple miles north of Lewes, Delaware.

Aug 11, 2008 pours a beautiful bright amber with a fluffy off white head. flavor is very malty and complex, with a nice yeasty undertone. lots of caramel and fruitieness in there too...

Aug 10, 2008 750ml bottle: First off, I love the name. It is a great play on words. This one pours an opaque reddish-brown color. Mine had a large, fizzy tan head on it that went away almost immediately. It has a very nice aroma. Somewhat candy sweetness, along with cherries, plums and yeast. A touch of effervescence on the tongue. The taste is quite good also. The taste is good. Somewhat sweet, caramel, raisins and dark cherries to the taste. Finishes a bit lighter than expected. I would definitely buy another.

Aug 10, 2008 750 mL poured into trappist glass- poured transparent when held to a light source brown with a ruby tint, whisps of off tan on the liquid surface and ring around the glass for a head, aroma of cherries, yeast, and figs. Hits the mouth with a low-medium body, various spices and fruit hit the tongue from the start and last to the finish. Finish has moderate alcohol feel after the body drops off quickly, not very sticky feel like others of it’s style. Good, but not something to rob a train for.

Aug 8, 2008 bottle. Pours a deep, dark amber, with a small-ish off white head. Head clears pretty quick, leaves a nice layer and decent lacing. Aromas dominated by sweet dark raisins and figs, with some hints of yeasty tartness. Flavors follow the nose... smooth, dark fruity sweetness, plenty of sharp yeast notes, and a fair amount of booze. Palate is heavy, but clean, with very little lingering finish. Overall, a decent brew, though lacking in some of the depth often found in belgian dark ales.

Aug 3, 2008 Taste 8/8 Bottle. Looks: Deep brown with a nice lacing tan head. Aroma: Dark fruit and grain, not very aromatic for the style. Taste: Mellow, creamy. Descent must from the yeast. One dimensional.
