Commercial Description:
Originally brewed for Whole Foods. Belgian yeasts are legendary for the fruity flavor and floral bouquet they give beer. Hundreds are used by Belgian brewers and each is unique. Cru d'Or, a Belgian Style Abbey Ale is an homage to this magic ingredient and the result is a world class beer that is lush and profoundly aromatic with a warming finish. Being organic, Cru d'Or is brewed with the same reverence for pure ingredients as the Abbey and Farmhouse Belgian ales of the past. Delicious.

Clear copper color with a tan head. Good banana bread yeast, sweet malty smell. Medium body. Good candi sugar, sweet banana bread yeasty, estery flavors remind me of Redhooks Original Ale from way back in the day.

Sweet aromas of cookie and bread, Copper color. Tan head. Acidic, almost citric fruit flavors with estery pear and apple notes, nutspice yeast notes, medium to slightly more in the body, slightly creamy, not much more to the finish.

Bottle. Pours red with a beige head. Fruity aroma, strong banana note with lesser notes of raisin and chestnut. Medium body. Flavor is again banana and other fruits, raisin, cherry, and chestnut. Nice, and it’s organic.

Bottle. Pours Dark Brown with 1inch head that quickly thins to a thin lacing. Scent is fruity raisins, brown sugar, plums. Taste is bitter, plums/fig, with a noticable taste of etoh. eh.

Bottle, Kegs & Barrels, McKinney, TX. Poured a great looking clear deep amber/copper color with medium slight beige head that stayed with beer. Aroma of caramel, raison, and alcohole spice. Flavor much the same and sweet with a hint of clove. Palate is medium carbonation and full mouth feel....good beer!

Weak combination of body odor and caramel on the nose. Cloudy ochre and thin yellow head. Tastefully sweet candied cherry and fig. Marshmallow finish. Nicely done. A good dessert beer?

Dark amber color with a mid sized head. Aroma of cocoa, dark fruits and some caramel. Raisins and plums are accompanied by a light peppercorn spice. Moderately sweet, with some earthy flavors present as well. Has some nice flavors upfront, but falls a little short in the finish.
