This is a pretty tasty belgian strong, with noticeable dubble characteristics. The alcohol is there in the aftertaste and the head disappears too quickly, but pretty good overall. legion242 (1588), Richardson, Texas, USA

initial plum notes that mellow
into some coffee flavors. The hop flavors are not too pronunced. This beer wants something hearty flavored as a pairing and is awesome as part of a braise. Palidor19 (1798), Brandon, Florida, USA

A smooth tasting, highly malted, with flavors of caramel, and toffee. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2006 Pours to a bright, ruby red color, with a soapy white head that fades, and a soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is inviting, with aromas of sweet malt, fruit and candy sugar. The palate is soft, with flavors of sweet malt, candy sugar, and some light estery fruit. Cru dOr finishes with more sweet malt, and fruit up front, then ends with some malty/candy sugar sweetness. A tasty little beer with good character, and one that hides the 8% abv well. I would peg this bee an abbey dubble, and while not the most impressive, domestic example, this is a beer I could see sipping, or enjoying with hearty foods, or rich deserts. ilikestuff (222), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
