Commercial Description:
A rustic ale, pale in color, inspired by the rich brewing traditions of the Flanders region. Abundant hops and a Belgian yeast strain contribute exotic aromas af tropical fruit.

Editor’s Note: previously known as Whole Foods Silver Jubilee.

(bottle): Pours a golden color body, cloudy. Smallish white head. Belgian flower aroma, sugary, super sweet. Carbonated, sour taste, mediciney. Warming up, mellower, medicine taste is gone. Flowery taste.

Bottle (750ml) shared at ’Biegaman’s Second Annual Saison Tasting’ -- courtesy of biegaman. Pours a slightly hazy gold with an average size frothy white head. Nice lacing. Nice aroma of spices, fruit, yeast and light hops. Flavour’s fruity and bitter along with sweet malt, yeast and spices (pepper and more). Long spicy bitter finish. Alcohol pretty well hidden. Average to medium bodied. Quite enjoyable, I liked it.

hazy gold with decent white head. flavor has a decent pale malt component and a dry hop finish without much bitterness. the funky yeasty tartness of a saison is not overly present and overall lacking. not a bad version of a Belgian for an American brewer, but not extraordinary

Bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Pours a very hazy orangish-straw color. Very large head with moderate retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of citrus, mango and a subtle tartness. Taste is mildly fruity and very dry. Citrus, strawberry, peach. Very nice,

Bottle (75 cl) from Systembolaget. Hazy deep golden with a large white head. Fruity, Spicy, yeasty, and citric aroma. Medium bodied with vivid and slightly spritzy carbonation. Dry and slightly acidic. A good Saison, but not top notch.

2005-05-24. Hazy golden yellow body is almost egg-yolk like in colour by the bottom of the bottle which is much cloudier than the initial pours. (3+) Yeasty lemon fruit aroma. (7+) Similar flavour, zippy lemon, some sort of spice I can’t pinpoint, light yeast and pale malt. Smooth average to medium palate. (3+) Bottle shared by Biegaman

Bottle (750ml corked & caged). At 2nd Annual Summer Saison Tasting - beigaman’s bottle. Murky yellow pour, large frothy-creamy white head, lovely sticky lace (4+). Solid fruit (apple, pear, banana), spice and yeast aroma, nice bit of peppery sharpness. The taste followed right on, a little detectable alcohol, quite a lot of bitter spice in the finish. Somewhat thin bodied, solid pungent astringency, and a long yeast/spice finish - very nice --- I would have liked a little more lasting malt body.

750ml. Amber color with large white head that lasts. Has a nice aroma to it. It says farmhouse ale on the bottle but didn’t have as powerful a smell or taste as other farmhouse Saisons I’ve enjoyed. I enjoyed it but it seemed to have a matte flavor in there that I wish was replaced by possibly some sweetness or funkiness.
