750 ml from Discount Liquors, WI. Pours a clear golden color with a tall off-white head. Apples, pears, green grapes, citrus, yeast, and caramel malts in the aroma and flavor. A touch of pepper spice in the flavor as well. Not funky at all, but light, dry, and flavorful. Slightly tart, it would be nice if a little more body, tart, and spice, but otherwise good. Went really well with tilapia, garlic potatoes, and greens dinner.

The aroma is very yeasty with funky basement smalls as well as rich malt and herbs. The appearance is cloudy gold with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with both tart and malty elements. The palate is good. Enjoyable without being great.

750 ml bottle. Poured a hazy light amber/orange with a billowy head. Mostly doughy, slightly sweet malts in the aroma, with notes of funky yeast, citrus, pear, and flowers. Off-sweet raw bread dough to biscuit flavors with light sweet fruits (pear, banana, white grape) and a zingy, citrus-hop / spice / white pepper finish. Some herbal notes as well. Fine carbonation. Nice sprightly saison.

A great funky nose and a flavor to match! What a spot on example of the style from an American producer. If saison is your thing, then this is definitely one to try. Great level of smooth carbonation to it Too bad this hasn’t shown up in Brooklyn yet (from what I have seen).

Bottle of Whole Foods Silver Jubilee 25th Anniversary Ale; 500ml; Nose is lightly tart with apples, caramel, nutmeg and peppery spiciness; lightly hazed gold with a big gold head that heavily laces the glass as I drink; flavor of tartness, pepper, coriander, apple, and a slight hint of bananas. Excellent Saison!

Bottle: Light haze in a golden pour with a large off-white head. Nose is light and airy, citrus, fruity, light florals, and some yeast. Crisp florals and citrus blended with spices round out the bluk of the flavor. Some light apple cider notes as well. A crisp, grassey kick in the trailer.
