Aroma - Chocolate and toasted malts with notes of semi-sweet chocolate, coffee and floral.
Appearance - Nearly opaque black with ruby red tinges when held to light source. 2 finger tan head with decent retention. Light lacing
Flavor - Toasted and chocolate malt, coffee and well balanced notes of floral and citrus hops.
Palate - Medium mouthfeel. Nicely carbonated for the style. Dry finish
Overall - Goes down smooth. A little heavy on the citrus for my taste. Still, very well made and tasty. Could definitely drink a few.

All un-imperials taste too thin. That being said, excellent for something thin. Chocolaty nose. Same in flavor, with some coffee-ness. Solid. lithy (1725), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Dark black with slight brown at the edges two nice creamy fingers of tan head leaves a brown splotchy lacing as it recedes. Dark roasted malts, coffee, and slight sourness/astringency. Big roasty malt taste, light coffee bean and good hoppy bitterness in the finish. nuplastikk (1197), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 26, 2008 12oz bottle. Deep black-red color. Toffee and chocolate aroma. Initial dry mouthfeel leads to a smooth, smoky, malt finish. Hops are more present than in your typical Stout, giving it a pleasant balance. Lots of roasted malt in the finish. A nice Stout. illidurit (889), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Dark walnut brown, nearly black. Creamy tan head, okay lacing, decent retention. Cocoa, graham, and light roasty aromas. Flavor is very roasted, with coffee notes and a slightly charred bitterness. Semisweet chocolate provides a touch of sweetness. Mouthfeel is decent, but the carbonation is too high. This style would be better suited to a light carbonation to enhance a creamy body. Nonetheless, this is miles tastier than the standard Irish stout fare like Guinness and Murphy’s.
