Pours obsidian black with a small white head. Aroma predominantly of chocolate with hints of caramel, coffee, and roast. Taste is more roasty than I had suspected it would be. About 50/50 light chocolate and roast bitterness. Pretty good and easy drinking.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown/black with a chocolate colored head. The aroma was coffee and chocolate. The flavor was again, chocolate and coffee. Overall, an easy drinking dark beer. I enjoyed this one a lot.

(Bottle). Milk chocolate aroma. Black body, creamy brown head. Malty chocolate flavor, hint of a bite from hops. Excellent.

pours dark brown with small, thick tan head. aroma is much coffee and chocolate. flavor is somewhat a letdown, but i think its due to the very thin body. not bad for a session beer, but nothing overly special.

Pours a deep brown color with a thin off white head. Aroma is roasted malt and a hint of coffee. A lot of malt undertones going on. Flavor is unfortunately a bit bitter and thin. The flavor doesn’t quite follow through with the aroma and there’s a really distinct aspirin bitterness going on. Not entirely pleasant.

Pint - Peaks Brewpub - Port Angeles, WA
Aroma – Deep dark malt aroma with a lingering of chocolate and coffee.
Appearance – Dark Brown in color, clear, with a thin head.
Flavor – Nice dark malt flavors toasty with a chocolate and coffee flavor with that deep rich flavor.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a dry chocolate finish.
Overall – This is one of the better beer for the night. Loved the flavor this went down very smooth and was a delight to drink.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear dark mahogany under a fizzy quickly receding beige head. Some lacing though. Aroma is fairly light, mostly a burnt and roasted maltiness with a light anise and chalk accent. Flavor is roasted and burnt malt with a good bit of astringency. Finishes dry and moderately bitter with some coffee and chalkiness. Mouth feel was lighter bodied with a fairly watery texture. Carbonation is active and fizzy.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a creamy, two finger brown head. Aroma of malt and coffee. Flavor is dry with malt and coffee. Body is way too light for a beer like this. Not impressed at all.
