12oz bottle from Peace St. Market, Raleigh. One of the first dry stouts I really appreciated, this one remains solid and enjoyable to me. Nice toasted malt aroma, thick body, slightly thin mouthfeel, and a rich roasted quality with a pleasing dry finish. Nothing to make it stand out from the pack, but very enjoyable.

Pours ebony with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty, and it tastes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Definitely a little thinner than I was expecting, but the lightness on the palate isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I liked this one.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear dark mahogany with a beige head that fades fast into a soup scum and spotty lacing. Nose is smoky burnt malt and light coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma with some powdered cocoa in the finish. Lighter than expected mouth feel. Meh, nothing to write home about.

Bottle thanks to beerbill! Pours a deep brown colour, not quite black with a thin but solid tan head. Smell is fairly roasty, with hints of coffee, and a reasonably strong floral hops in the nose too. Flavour is strong dark chocolate with some other roasts in it, as well as some sweet dark fruit notes. It’s not quite as creamy as it probably could be, but it’s pretty nice.

Dark brown with ruby highlights and a thick tan head. Strong chocolate and coffee. Good dark roast aroma. Flavour is bitter burnt roast, some coffee. A little light on the palate.

12oz bottle. Nice blend of good roast character and leafy hops in the nose. Crisp and fresh. Pours a deep black-brown with a tan head. Flavor is a really roasted, crisp fresh stout. Nice dryness, minimal sweetness and a touch of caramels. Nice roasty dryness. Clean, with a long draw of leafy, grassy hops that created interesting play. Enjoyable.

12 oz poured deep brown/black. Tan head that lasted until the end of the drink. Roasty aroma with some bread-like smells. Coffee like initial taste. Some toffee and roasted flavor. A bit on the dry side.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Black with lasting brown head and lace. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate aroma. ROasted chocolate with mild dark fruit and clean bitter finish. Medium body and carbo. Slight carbo bite. Lingering bitter coffee. Very good. Could use slightly more body but I guess that’s par for the dry stout style.
