12 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark brown in color with a strong tan head. The aroma is chocolate, some coffee, roasted malt, and a hint of licorice. The flavor is mostly semi sweet chocolate and coffee, with roasted malt and light citrus hops thrown in for good measure. This is a solid yet unspectacular beer from a weel respected brewer.

nice brown black pour with brown head, excellent caramelized sugar taste with chocolate/oak/coffee notes. Leaves a very pleasant and long-lasting taste on the palate

bottle pours dark, opaque brown. with small but lasting tan frothy head. Smells burnt brown sugar. Tastes equally of coffee and chocolate with some alcohol in the back and a long bitter finish. Could be a little sweeter and I detected some tin. Palate is mostly smooth, coating the mouth and tongue with just a litttle too much carbonation. Overall delicious and extremely solid. Don’t drink too cold.

Bottle. Black in color, very nice nitro-like creamy head. Aroma of bread crust, vanilla, pepsi and caramel. The flavor is expansive: it starts pretty mellow, a little acidic, then the coffee-like bitterness takes the lead with impressive intensity. The bitterness lingers for quite a long time. The palate starts a little watery but ends on an elegant and sustained dryness. Faithful to the style.

Poured an attractive dark brown with some garnet highlights and nice tan head that dissipated to a small tan ring. Aroma is of caramel, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is also of caramel, chocolate, and coffee that is balanced by the hop presence. Mouthfeel is pleasant and little lacing was left on glass. This was a nice beer that I enjoyed especially after it warmed a little which enhanced the flavor. Very smooth with high degree of drinkability.

Bottle thanks to beerbill. Pours a dark brown with a great tan head. The aroma is fairly light; some smoked malts. The taste is mostly light coffee, roasted malts, some hops, brown sugar and engine soot. Quite nice. Well made and an easy drink. I’d drink this all night. The body is a little thin, but overall quite good. A damn good stout.

12oz bottle. Nice, but not overpowering roasted malt aroma. Slightly charred wood. Black liquorice... but sweeter. Dark, but sweet chocolate. Pours Nearly opaque with dark brown highlights. I was looking for a little more of that sweetness on the tongue. Lots of roasted malt. Rock hard on the palate. Mild bitter astringency. Finishes with a lingering roasted maltiness.
