Bottle, a very dark ruby almost black pour into a glass and covered with a tan head, aromas of dark malt, roasted malt, toasted malt, unsweetened dark chocolate, faint licorice, very little sweet aroma, roasted and toasted malt taste, dry on the palate, faint sweet flavor, small chocolate and coffee tastes in the finish, there is a hop bite in the sip, a dry unsweetened chocolate taste lingers on the tongue, this was ok, stout beers just do not stir up my palate like some other styles.

this is an older bottle so this may not have been as good as it could be. aroma light roast and sherry with cocoa note behind. taste is similar but watery and thin. finish is weak. not their best effort at north coast.

This stout looked nice with the typical jet black body and almond color head. Where this was lacking was at the taste, I could taste almost wheat like flavor with the coffee and alcohol that you typically taste in this type of beer
