Strong aroma of bourbon and dark chocolate. Flavors of sweet dark chocolate, bourban, vanilla, and a little wood and dark fruit. Very complex flavors, smooth palate and the alcohol is well hidden. Amazing. I could sip this all night long. Magicdave6 (5490), London, Greater London, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2009 Bottle at the legend of chriso’s pre GBBF09 tasting. Alround rating: Lots of coffee, dark chocolate, the burnt black malt is on the sweeter side, perhaps too much alcohol for me. Fairly tasty stout. JPDIPSO (4901), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Dark brown with a hints of copper on the edges. Tall lasting tan head. Ripe dark fruit stewed in a bourbon. Lightly charred oak, vanilla and caramel in the background. Nice lace. Soft and lightly oily feel. My second bottle. The first was shared with friends at a near refrigerator temperature. This is at cellar temperature. The warmer on has a bit more alcohol edge. Initial sweet bourbon flavors. Dark fruit with dates and prunes. Middle has a roasted malt, caramel and vanilla. Finish is warming. Linger is long with everything from oak, light smoke, bourbon, molasses, and roasted malt. Extremely dangerous if consumed at a cooler temperature. ruskiimperial (64), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Aug 16, 2009 From the bottle. Poured a night black, with a nice tan head. The smell is that of roasted malts, with a bit of coffee thrown in. The taste is a bit of chocolate, with a lot of dark roast coffee. Very delicious. Its like they Old Rasputing and added more complexity of the bourbon light sweetness and also added a lot more of the coffee as well. Sweet hints of chocolate also perforate the palate, though they are not the strongest part of this beer. Very exceptional and worth the high price. boFNjackson (1273), Portland, Oregon, USA

Creamy flavors of toasted almond, sweet chocolate and roasted malts. Bourbon whiskey, alcohol warmth in the finish. Trev (867), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2009 pours very dark brown with a medium tight tan head.
Aroma is rich chocolate and coffee, velvety roast malt and some oakey tones and alc.
Flavour is strong coffee, bourbon/brandy chocolates, i didn’t find it that boozy. Though there was a hint of alc and some light burnt malt bitterness in the finish.
An interesting tweak on Rasputin, though a bit pricey for my liking. deyholla (695), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 15, 2009 Bottle. Poured black with a thick brown head. Aroma was full of alcohol with coffee and a slight vanilla note. Flavor is was full of bourbon with a coffee note as well. Personally I prefer the straight Old Rasputin. For the price they charge, it thought it was quite the rip-off. Papsoe (14904), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 15, 2009 Bottle 50 cl. Pours black and opaque with a dense and creamy cappuchino-like head. Intense yet soft aroma of sweet hard roasted malts with distinct woody notes and warming alcohol. Very full-bodied, hard roasted malts, sweet vanilla and bourbon with a solid alcohol burn in the finish. Very, very delicious. 110709
