Poured thick and dark with a beautiful brown head. Very complex flavor with strong coffee, hints of chocolate, caramel, and raisin?, very robust, a true man’s beer, and delicious to boot!

12 oz bottle. Poured dark black with a medium long lasting dark tan head. Tastes strongly of dark chocolate and espresso with a roasted, toffee and resin taste. This is truly an extraordinary beer.

"Extremely dark brown pretty much black with a thin film floating on top and a thicker layer ringing the edge of my glass, fairly standard look for the style. Coffee aroma with a nice bitter chocolate and sweet berries. Yum yum yummy aroma maybe a touch mild though, alcohol starts to show up when warmer but its very mild. Very burnt flavor with a sweet creaminess in the back ground. Lots of coffee in the flavor but its not a coffee bomb. Beer has a nice thick full creamy mouth feel. The burnt bitterness of the flavor lingers for a very long time. Flavor becomes chalky when beer warms. Nice impy stout very easy drinking. Nat says this smells like prunes and booze."

Poured a pint from a home tap system (half barrel). Pours black with about an inch of dark head. Nose is coffee, chocolate, and malt. Taste is right along that alley with a bitter coffee aftertaste. This is a well balanced Russian Imperial Stout that I can enjoy glass after glass.

Poured black and viscous out of the bottle and was topped with a medium brown head. Aroma is brown sugar, alcohol, chocolate, and something I can’t quite place maybe vanilla? Flavor is intense coffee, chocolate, caramel, sweet but balanced by the bitter. Old Rasputin is oh so good and a beer I keep coming back to.

Pours black with a big mocha head. Nose of chocolate malt, caramel, some coffee. Flavor is very rich and full of malty chocolate, coffee, very faint hops finish.

I’ve had this last Old Raspy sittin’ around for a few months now, and this thunderstorm seemed like the right time to drink it. Pours extremely dark brown with disappearing burnt red-orange head. Aromas of villainous plots to overthrow royal families waft from the depths, as well as notes of plum, tar, sweet malt, and alcohol. Flavors of sweet malts, dark fruits, leather, smoke, bitter chocolate, and alcohol abound. The beer feels thick and foamy without being overly dense. Overall, this is a very fine brew.

Sweetish, roasty and burnt malty aroma with hints of vegetables. Sweet, milk sugarish burnt malty flavor finishes quite dry and coffeeish. Very mildly bitter. Smooth, creamy palate.
