Jan 26, 2009 Black as night, with quickly dissipating 1 finger head, with brown foam that hung around for awhile. Aroma is amazing, and can be smelled without holding it to my nose. smells of coffee and roasted malts. Taste is sweet malts and coffee, not getting any chocolate. Does have a nice hop bitterness in the finish, which is quite nice with this one because of the sweetness. This is a sipper for sure. Very nice brew on a cold night such as tonight! I think anyyone who enjoys good beers, needs to at least try this one out.

Jan 26, 2009 I have had better. Don’t get me wrong, this beer certainly hit the goal that it was headed for, strong, alcoholic flavor, malts, smokiness, violent. But I do not taste caramels, coffees, sugars- I like my Imperial Stouts to be complex, full of flavors that fade in and out with each sip. This tastes like beer mixed with peat-smoked scotch. One thing is for sure though, it does make you want to fuck.

Jan 24, 2009 12 oz. bottles...bought at grocery store in Portland, Or. Pours black with a full dark mocha head. Left very little lacing. Malt and roasted coffee in the nose. Flavor profile includes roasted coffee, malt, burnt toast, dark fruits, chocolate and alcohol with moderate hops. Very complex. A very drinkable beer.

Jan 24, 2009 Bone Black appearance with thick creamy light brown top. Smell of ROASTED COFFEE BEANS, DARK CHOCO, and vanilla, light bitter conclusion. Strong taste disguises alcohol. Lasting and enjoyable.
