decent but was outclassed in my opinion by what it was matched up against (victoy storm king and nogne imperialstout) Pours black with a light tan head which persisted longest of the 3. Perhaps the hoppiest of the 3. Aroma was decent but paled to nogne. Flavour was good, chocolatey, roasty coffee. Initial trial reminded me of john by imperial stout. Overal a good beer that I will let age a little since it seemed to be lacking something. Perhaps not as balanced as others? I’m not quite sure.

Four 12oz bottles for $9 from Bauer Wines in Boston. Pours black, with a good head. Very good lacing. Rich nose of malts and hops. First taste is strong and warm, but the main taste is hurt by what feels like too much alcohol, so it goes down hot - and I typically have no problem with big beers. Tangy flavour. Nice lingering hop and malt aftertaste. Overall, I’m not actually enjoying this one too much. I will let its brothers age.

Enjoyable, but I’ve had better Imperial stouts. I think I need to give this another go, but at the moment it’s missing something. Had a rerate on tap and while it is a great strong thick beer, it has a dryness that I’m not enamoured with but still a very good beer.

Pours motor oil black with a beautiful and creamy tan head. Can smell malt, chocolate, coffee and caramel sweetness. Starts off big, dark chocolate, tastes almost smoky, but has a sweetness to it on the way down. Alcohol is present but not in an overpowering way. Carbontated medium mouthfeel. A fantastic beer with a lot going on in it.

Wow what a dark bier! Has a nice big brown head to it, and i thought it almost smelled like grape juice! It had a very earthy whiskey taste that was wonderful!

Nice solid foam. Big roasted coffey and dark choklate aroma with some fruit esthers. Taste of coffey and intense alcohole that spoils the overall impression. A litle more malt sweetness would improve this beer.

Bottle. Dark and Smokey aroma, with hints of chocolate and coffee. Pours almost black with a wispy brown head. A god among mere mortals, this beer is deliciously intense without being overly complex.
