Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 20, 2008 On tap at Boston’s Bistro & Pub in Dayton. First time I’ve tried this beer on tap, and I thought it was excellent. The pour takes a few minutes because of the huge head that refuses to subside. It’s extremely dark with an off white, light brown head that just hangs around forever. The aroma and flavor is a mixture of coffee and chocolate. A wonderful viscosity and extremely enjoyable. GMUcrew7 (353), Mason, Ohio, USA Jun 19, 2008 Pours very thick dark black color with booming tan head that lasts. Great aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, coffee and a little alcohol. Excellent robust flavors, chocolate malts and a nice coffee and hop bitterness at the finish. Creamy body with a lasting delicious aftertaste. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Jun 19, 2008 Updated: Jul 27, 2008Huge, full bodied initial flavor loaded with an excellent balance of hops and malt. Chocolate and coffee malt flavor. Kind of a piney hop flavor that I did not expect. Not much sweetness, no alcohol taste. Long lingering, lightly bitter finish. Somehow it remains highly drinkable. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Jun 19, 2008 This is an excellent ImpStout. It pours deep chocolate color with notes of dark chocolate, slight dark fruit, and some alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is chocolatey with coffee and a tang of hops in the finish. Heavy on the mouthfeel with lots of chocolate malt. It is an excellent addition to a beer style I don’t norammly love. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA Jun 19, 2008 Nice nearly black pour and nice dark head. Aroma is full of chocolate, coffee and almost camp fire roasted smell. Taste is the same and heavy, with some bitterness. My favorite Imperial Stout so far. BelgiskOlklub (392), Viby J, Denmark Jun 19, 2008 Bottle. Average size, creamy light brown diminishing head. Black hazy body. Heavy malt aroma of chocolate, coffee and burnt malt, smoke, tar and tobacco. Full, creamy body and average carbonation. The flavor has a long duration is moderate/heavy sweet and moderate bitter. A very nice imperial stout. bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA Jun 18, 2008 Pours dark brown/black with small brown head. Woody aroma hints of chocolate and some dried banana. Strong coffee flavor with hints of dark chocolates, quick bitter bite with incredibly long finish. Full bodied but not the as mush as many other imperial stouts I’ve had. Great beer but not as complex as I had expected, almost like sipping on some java. gringo332 (236), Richardson, Texas, USA Jun 17, 2008 Very Bitter beer Not too much head. really dark. Smells of chocolate but tast like burned coffee.
