pintbypint (879), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 29, 2008 12 fl oz brown bottle. Deep brown/black colour, opaque. Holds a nice tan cap throughout the glass. Sweet malt aromas combine with coffee and chocolate. Inital taste is sweet chcoolate malts, a decent level of citrusy hop flavours. Finishes with a trace of alcohol, lots of roast and some citrusy bitterness. Low carbonation, creamy full mouthfeel. Great drinkable and balanced impy.
Kaizen666 (14), , New York, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours black as Satan’s heart with a wonderfully inviting tan head that tells you right away you are going to get a kick in the sack if you’re some pansy drinker. Felt like I was having sex with a Victoria’s Secret model who tasted of roasted coffee and chocolate. Fantastic beer. spikester (407), Salem, Oregon, USA Aug 26, 2008 Pours black with huge long lasting tan head and copious lacings. Aroma is potent-coffee and cocoa.
Taste is bitter chocolate and strong rich coffee. Has a nice bitter, warming finish. Smooth and rich. The alcohol is apparent but ends up buried in all the good flavors. Nice brew. Pershing (65), Garland, Texas, USA Aug 26, 2008 Magnificent, Pours black with a nice tan head that remains around thanks to tiny bubbles. The sweetness is perfectly balanced the right amount of hops. Not for the faint of heart. An exceptional beer that may be the best in this style in the entire World. Well worth the Price. Homebrewerguy (246), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 26, 2008 Bottle:pours very dark with a generous tan head, nice aroma of malt and yeast, first taste is hoppy with roasted malt and finishes with an alcohol warmth, other raters get a complexity from this beer, but I do not, perhaps a bit of licorice with the roasted malts. A really nice RIS Jimrbb (16), USA Aug 26, 2008 Pours deep black, roasty, coffee flavors, 9% strong. sweet, chocolate, very hoppy.
