(Bottled) Very dark brown with a large, beige and foamy head. Roasted-sweetish-malty aroma with licorice and quite a bit of hop bitterness. Roasted-malty, sweetish, bitter flavor with licorice and notes of oatmeal sourness. Alcohol is well hidden, but warming. Quite full, sticky body with slightly astringent bitterness and soft carbonation. This is like Slottskällans Imperial Stout with added roast and bitterness. Good stuff! (Bottled@Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Very dark, almost black color with no head. Quite mild aroma with sweetish malt. Very, very malty, coffeeish, quite dry flavor (for an imperial stout) - but with a sticky and sweetish finish. Full-bodied, creamy-smooth, low-carbonated palate. A very nice, dryish imperial stout.

35cl bottle. BB 05/08. Pours black (into my oerbier glass) with an excellent creamy brown head & lacings. Aroma is superb & complex - Roast, chocolate, liquorice, coffee, dried fruits, port, alcohol & hops. Palate is amazing - smooth, creamy ,oily, sticky & filling. Light warmth & a long bitter end. I am very impressed with everything about this brew - and so drinkable!!

Bottle. Pours a black nectar with a brown head. Sweet and malty, roasty coffee notes, light dark chocolate and a floral bitter roasty/hoppy finish. Good.

Burned cofee, aromahops and a slight lactic sourness. Deep brown with a creamy brown head with lace clinging to the glas. Wonderfully complex taste: Coffee, figs/raisins and brandy rounded of nicely by the hops. Long aftertaste of dark chokolate. Fullbodied and deceivingly smooth.

Poured a dark brown color with a medium sized light tan head. This was not opaque and significantly lighter than the Sammy Smiths IS I just had. It did, however, leave nice lacing on the glass. It had a fruity aroma of chocolate, hints of caramel and whiskey. It had a taste of chocolate and malt, alcohol and a bitter chocolate and coffee aftertaste with some whiskey as well, some carbonation was noted. It had a full finish that coated the mouth.

Pours thick black. Rich creamy mouthfeel. Can really taste the alcohol. Bitter chocolate taste tool.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve rated (hell, even tasted) this beauty so it’s time for a revisiting. Pours a death black color with a tall, frothy head. The aroma hits you with a large blast of malt, alcohol, and coffee. Very dry and slightly bitter up front. About a medium dosage of roasts. There is an almost berry-ish taste to it, but it’s very faint. Still a damn fine brew..
