I could almost kiss Governor Bob Taft on the lips for allowing us high-ABV beers in Ohio (even though it was dumb we didn’t have them in the first place). This immediately became one of my favorite beers, being the Stout lover I am. Wonderful warming chocolate flavor with an alcohol presence that is not overpowering. Absolutely perfect pour with lacing that lasted to the bottom of the glass. I will be keeping this one in stock at all times.

One of the finest beers I’ve ever had. I’ve enjoyed this more each time I’ve tried it. The aroma is rich with luscious chocolate. The flavors include chocolate, caramel, roasty espresso, molasses, and cloves. It’s thick and creamy, black in the glass with a brown foamy head. Splendid.

Dark, dark brown colour (well, black actually). Nice light brown (almost pink-ish!) head. A BIIIG beer , very roasty, very tasty.

Being a huge IPA fan I found the extra hop boost to be a joy. Not a big stout fan but I took OPIATE’s advice and tried it ’not to be stuck in a rut’ and you know what. I rated it about as high as some of my favorite IPA’s. I love this beer from it’s thick creamy head to it’s oily core it’s a joy to drink. A nice burnt chocolate/coffee flavor greets the nose after you pour it into a stein and do yourself a favor, let the head drop a few inches before diving in. You don’t want to waste a drop. Rich, oily mouthful like a chaw of chewing tobaccoo but such a nice tangy flavor. Ahh...Can’t stop praising. Go out and get yourselves a bottle or two.

Mostly black with ruby tint, medium tan head. Hops and roasted coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Starts out bittersweet, creamy, sharp coffee/espresso flavor, big malt, then some black cherry and chocolate, plenty of hops also. The key word here is powerful. This a full and huge beer, while at the same time delicately complex. Great finish, not too bitter. Oh yeah, and plenty of alcohol in this one. Packs more punch than the Bolshevik revolution.

My favorite beer ever! Excellent full body, strong but not overwhelming flavors and wonderful chocolate after taste. The aroma is only slightly alcoholic.

Bottle pours black with uber brown highlights, large tannish frothy head, with extremely sticky lacing. Heavy coffee and subtle chocolate on the nose, slightly dry and chalky. Mmmmm, a nice malty front, followed by semi-sweet chocolate and a slight coffee note. Wow, rather sweet this is as well. I think this should be known as
           Old Rasputin Russian Imperial CRACK.
I think I just had a religous experience... Body and mouthfeel are fantasic. Finishes clean, with more of that chocolate and roasted malt flavor. I cannot get over how easy this is to put back, DANGEROUSLY too easy. A good Barfday treat this is! A slightly bitter trailer but its very fleating. DAMN$#!$#!
