Have had from a 12oz bottle and on tap - and both were simply amazing and one of the best and most complex Impy stouts out there!

Truly a tremendous beer. Rich, foamy dark tan head over a nice black color liquid. Great roasted malt flavor with a slight dark chocolate taste. Strong beer, warm going down. Not too bitter. The overall effect is just right. A good imperial stout, I’ve rated it high.

Poured from bottle into frosted glass. Darker than coffee in appearance with a brown head that slowly grows to half an inch and even more slowly dissipates and laces the glass. Strong coffee and chocolate tastes with a present alcohol flavor. Mildly carbonated and leaves your tongue coated like thick chocolate milk. My favorite of it’s class.

Very dark pour. Smells of roasted coffee and chocolate. Wonderful chocolate taste. Clean, strong finish.

Bone Black appearance with thick creamy light brown top. Smell of ROASTED COFFEE BEANS, DARK CHOCO, and vanilla, light bitter conclusion. Strong taste disguises alcohol. Lasting and enjoyable.

Pours a dark black with a medium sized brown/beige head that seems to linger for a bit. The aroma is great, a mix of alcohol, chocolate, and coffee. Complex to say the least. The taste is even more complex. A balanced mixture of chocolate, coffee, hops, wood, and some roasted malts coming through. The taste remains for some time, and the finish is warm and perfect. What a great beer, truly an American masterpiece.

One of the darkest pours I’ve ever seen, thick and heavy with a medium brown head. Massive hits of coffee beans and bitter chocolate with just a slight hint of the alcohol buried beneath it all. How I miss my youthful days when I used to regularly drink four of these a night. Probably the most pleasant drunk I’ve ever had. Your beer drinking life is not complete if you’ve never had this one. Also Rasputin’s beard is a hero to mine, just saying.

Wow. The best Imperial Stout I’ve ever had. Smelled great, tasted great, was great. Rich chocolatey, coffee aroma and taste. Thick black pour, no head, very little carbonation. Nice lasting palate. As close to perfect a beer as I can imagine, a new favorite.
