Robe noire surmontée d’une mousse brune persistente. Arômes de café, de cacao, d’alcool et de levure. Saveurs de cacao, de chocolat, d’avoine et de café expresso. Intense. Corps bien présent.

Bottled. Pours black, with a nice, brown head. Thick mouthfeel, and the flavor is malt and coffee with roasty notes, and a warm, alcohol finish. One of the best.

WOW, chocolate and roast in the aroma and the taste. This is how a Russian imperial stout should taste with the roast right up front and in your face. A standard for me, absolutely great.

35,5 cl bottle. Black colour. Aroma of roasted barley and some fruit. Great taste of roasted barley. Well balance between hops and the dark malt, that ends in a great complet smooth taste, with hints of alkohol.

very dark, strong alcholo flavour, had on tap at Sheraton LAX brewpub. Decent stout, strong enough to truly be classified as an ’imperial’ stout.

Bottle. Poured out motor oil black with a nice thick dark tan head. Aroma is intoxicating itself full of rich, dark roast coffee, molasses and some toasted malt. Palate was almost creamy in texture, just a bit of fizz, great mouthfeel. Flavor was so incredibly complex with strong dark chocolate, molasses, french vanilla, toffee and a bit of anise. The finish was heavy on the roasted malt and alcohol which warms you on the way down. If I still lived up north I would definitely use this to warm me up on those cold winter nights. Outstanding, hearty beer.

This is one of the best--if not the best--imperial stout I’ve come across. A beer made to be sipped, like fine whiskey, perfect for a cold winter day. The nose is a complex blend of roasted oats and cracked barley, mingled with dried figs and smoke. The palate is a thick, though not overly sweet, blend of figs and raisins on a whiskey and smoke base, drifitng along with buttered oats and roasted barley. An excellent after-dinner beer.
