Bought in the 12 oz brown botle with a great lithograph of old Grigory on the label!! Well this beer darn well looks perfect dark, dark almost pitch black beer topped by a medium tan colour heead that sinks into a large amount of lace. The aroma of this brew is wonderful to behold..i smell vast amounts of roasted grain..some malt and a viscous alcohol aroma. Taste is how can I say it?..out of this world ..first malt then hops..but theres great chunks of black coffee..unsweetened dark chocolate..a great but not overwhelming stuff. Mouthfeel? how can i describe it other than to says ts almost perfect. For such a robust beer its actually quite alright for a quiet night in by the fire..

I love the Russian Imperials. Maybe it’s taking something good to a logical extreme (in this case, something good being massive amounts of roasted malt and alcohol) but in this case, extreme is just extremely good. Pours with an appropriate consistency and opacity - a dark tar-like liquid, foaming aggressively to produce a brown, fine-grained head that coats the side of the glass. Holding the glass up to the light, all is as it should be - the liquid blocks all light. No light is permitted to penetrate this beverage’s heart of darkness, it’s nutty, chocolaty, deeply layered, malty heart.

Dark with med head of dark brown. Malts and hops feed off each other very well. Finish is of coffee and brown sugar. Not too sweet just right....Even better on tap

im not the hippest on stouts and porters (because of their dessert type nature), but this one seems to be an exception, definitely hides its alcohol content behind its almost perfect flavor, rich, thick, chocolatey, very sweet aroma and flavor

Honestly hated this beer the first time I tried it, but for some reason I kept comming back and now it has become one of my favorites. The falvour is strong but the texture often borders on velvety and the after taste is no where near as strong as you would think based on the initial flavour. This is a great sipping beer that I cant get enough of. coffe and deep dark chocolate.

Dark, almost opaque. Tan rocky head. Lacing in sheets on the side of the glass. That aroma is heavenly. Almost reminiscent of a Belgian strong ale. Very fruity and chocolatey. Touch of roastiness. Perfectly sweet. Starts out with fruit and chocolate on the tongue and then the roasty malt comes through and then a dry finish of strong hops. Touch of licorice in the lingering taste. Texture is full and slick. Very nice!

Pours a thick tan head on a black body. Nice and sweet fruity and malty aroma with tones of coffee, oranges and dry fruit. Delicious flavor, sweet and full and very smooth. Notes of coffee, bitter chocolate, hops, roasted malt and plenty of fruit. An extremely tasty stout and really my kind of beer!

Little carbonation.Dark brown mohagany with a dark tan layer of foam. Nose is awesome.dark fruits ,Coffee and chocolate.I can imagine this as a wild dessert or after dinner apertif’.Port.Flavor is just as I was hoping. The roasted malts and chocolate are at the forefront but theexpresso and dark fruits are so well blended in here that there isn’t a dominate taste.Thick and delicious.
