my favorite impstout. can tend to start out with too much alcohol flavor at the beginning but then smooths out after the 3rd or 4th sip. or gulp.

Bottle. Poured with a tall mocha colored head, with excellent carbonation after it dissipated. Immediately, you can smell the roasted malts and chocolates. A full bodied beer, and very smooth for how thick it is. Finishes dry and very smooth. I love almost everything that comes out of North Coast Brewing, and this is another exceptional beer. I enjoy the fact that the flavor overpowers the taste of alcohol.

Tap. By far the best beer I have ever had. Poured thick and black as night, with a decent sized brown head that lasted. Tasted like hops and cigar smoke. Amazing.

Nearly perfect stout. I am leaving room for the perfect one wich I haven’t tried yet. But, this is the best one yet (10/08). A truly enjoyable beer that you can savor each sip. Good for dead of winter days lounging by the fire. I must have if you can find it.

Poured thick and dark with a beautiful brown head. Very complex flavor with strong coffee, hints of chocolate, caramel, and raisin?, very robust, a true man’s beer, and delicious to boot!

One of my favorite stouts. Pours near black with a small, medium brown head. Aroma is mostly chocolate with a hint of coffee and alcohol. Flavor is mostly chocolate with a slight coffee aftertaste. Despite the 9% ABV, it’s hard to taste the alcohol here. Feels thick and creamy in the mouth, in a good way.

Bottle. Medium sized brown head and a pitch black color. Nutty aroma of coffee and dark chocolate.Malty flavor with chocolate and raisin as well as coffee. An outstanding imperial stout which hides the ABV well.
