Beautiful, black stout; chocolate with a bit of licorice; bitter sweet finish; smooth mouthfeel, nearly luxurious; excellent balance of hop bitterness and roasted malty sweetness.

Nov 9, 2009 i drank this beer 2 days ago. right now, i’ve already had 3 Brooklyn Black Chocolate’s, soo, yeah.. the most striking thing about this beer that i recall was the appearance. beautiful head, lace, dark, opaque, mmmm. great overall taste, but the appearance on this fucker was outstanding.

Intense burnt caramel aromas. Long lasting cream color foam. Intense burnt falvours, but dissappearing immediatly. Not like the one I remembered from lastime.

Nov 7, 2009 Pours a thick, black with an amber coloured head. This beer tastes of burnt malt, rye bread and dark brown sugar. It has a texture just a bit thinner than syrup and a burnt-sugar aftertaste. Overall, a very good beer, but not an extremely versatile one.

Nov 2, 2009 Bottled 355ml. -from City Beer Store, San Francisco. My second North Coast beer, even better than Brother Thelonious. Deep black coloured, medium sized brown head, hoppy chocolate nose. Roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Notes of licorice and tar. Alcohol is well hidden, just some mild notes in rather bitter finish. Complex but smooth and easy drinkable for high ABV. Great imperial stout.
