Pours oil black with a surprising amount of brown bubbly head and nice lacing. Smells like my grandmother’s kitchen. A bitter burnt maltiness that is well integrated with hops and is reminiscent of rye bread smell, but I don’t think I would have come up with that if it wasn’t for the bourbon aged edition that really smells and tastes like rye bread. The alcohol and malts are not overwhelming. Not a sweet brew, but a good one. Will get again. Favorable aftertaste.

Dark brown to black in color. Nearly a 2 finger head of light tan color. 1st taste is very creamy then you get a burst of bubbly carbonation then the RIS flavors really take over. Very sharp chocolate/coffee notes.

Pours a dark black. Can see slight light through it during the pour and around the top of the glass. Aggressive pour gives wisps of head. Dark tan, but fades quick. Aroma of chocolate, raisin, and hints of coffee. Very chocolaty. Definite vanilla. Some coffee in the back with a good, bitter finish. Palate is silky smooth and thick. Laid back carbonation tingles a bit. Long finish. Great imp. Probably the best value out there when it comes to beer.

Very complex and rich, over the top brew with a robust palate, a fruity nose and a warming finish. I agree! Great Imperial with all the balance.

almost black with a persistent tan head. smells of chocolate and coffee, a touch of copper. taste is more dark roasted malts with a sweet and salty flavor kinda like fudge peanut butter or something. a nice kick of acidity at the end keeps it snappy. big body with good carbonation. This is a great imperial stout.

Pours a deep red... rests in glass nearly black... maintains a khaki head. Aroma... smelled bizarre (in a good way), between cough medicine and circus peanuts; alcohol (9 percent) well-prounounced. Taste was rich... bitter flavors mixed with sweet flavors, intermingling very complex... reminded me at some moments of a soft barbecue sauce, and I’m not a guy who normally likes that kind of thing. Moderately smooth on the palate; creamy. Strong, lingering finish between alcohol and sweetness. Loved it. Will enjoy again.

Bottle thanks to Glougoburp. Thanks Dany! Pours a pitch black with a tan head. The aroma is sweet, yeasty, roasty, and has hints of hops. It smells very nice. Then when you taste, it just hits every taste bud just right. A brilliant balance of bitter and sweet. Coffee, roasted barley, vanilla, bread crust, straw, licorice, and a bit of wood on the palate. Just crazy complex. The flavor just lingers for ages. Excellent brew. Thanks again Dany!
