Bottle shared by kp at the footsex gathering. This was quite the lineup. Pours a dark brown with a light tan head. Very nice looking in the glass. Nose and flavor has lots of dark fruits, toffee, brandy, brown sugar, and a mild alcohol presence (though its hidden very well). Sweet, but not cloying at all. Another delicious beverage that I feel privileged to have consumed. Kp, you shouldn’t have. No wait, you should.

Bottle shared with my brother Black95tt via the ever so helpful Dave. Thanks a bunch for the bottles Dave! Poured a very muddled brownish caramel color with a little bit of head. Lots of the brandy barrel apparent in the nose with all sorts figs, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and other dark fruits in the nose as well as in the flavor profile. Really really great brew and the brandy barrel adds so much to the already vintaged old stock ale (which is a great brew to begin with). I fell in love with this beer, and would easily say it is right there with Angels Share. And considering it is 5% stronger in abv. than Angels Share really makes this stuff shine next to my other favorite brandy barrel aged barleywine. Fantastic Stuff!!

Orange red coloured beer with a soda like fizzy head that went as quick as it came. For a while little carbonation bubbles danced on the top of this one but it soon settled. The aroma is very alcoholy with some nice fruit and brandy notes. The flavour is really quite nice with a lot of fruit and heavy dark malts creating an overall sweetness that the brandy really adds a lot to. Some vanilla notes round the flavour out as well as a quick hit of alcohol burn.

Bottle: Outstanding aroma is a combination or caramel, chocolate, toffee, maple syrup, and light alcohol. It pours a transparent orangish-brown with a minimal off-white head. The liquid really coats the glass leaving behind sticky legs. The flavor is excellent and consists of chocolate, caramel and maple syrup. The finish has notes of buttery vanilla and bourbon. The alcohol isn’t overbearing as it has just a faint presence in flavor in the finish along with a nice warming affect. Full bodied with an oily texture and mild carbonation. Absolutely outstanding.

Big thanks to john_adam2002, who shared his bottle. Hazy ruby/copper color. Woody dark fruit (raisins and prunes) with some vanilla and a touch of cherries. A bit warm and very vinous.

Baled and corked 500, vintage 2005. Thanks, Kim! Pours a clear ruby-tinged amber with a scant off-white head. Oaky raisin and sherry nose. Sweet, creamy full body. Prune, toffee and chocolate taste, which sounds strange as I’m writing this, but the taste was amazing. Soft, round oaky finish.

2005 Bottle. Big Thanks to john_adam2002 for the generousity of sharing this one with me at Capones. Poured a deep brown body with thin head. Aroma was a really nice mix of brandy and caramel. Flavor was light brandy, caramel, dried fruit and oak. This was so smooth. A nice little sipper.

Shared with Jasonmech77 and Mr Bendo. Poured dark brown with an off white head. Aroma of brandy, fruit, malt, candy, and vanilla. An absolute beautiful nose. Very complex flavors of the above. More vanilla and a smooth brandy finish. Extremely drinkable. Thanks Dough77 for suppling me with this gem.
