| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2009 I used to love this beer. because North Coast was brewing it before Belgian style ales were so widely available. It’s been about 3 years since I last had one. Tonight’s reunion comes from a bottle. Gold color, no head to speak of. Nose is actually kind of ashy. The aroma and taste are much less spicy and fruity than I recall. Might be because I just finished a Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA Tripel. Anyway the Pranqster still tastes good and has a decent body. drjay44 (806), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick short lived head with no lacing, over a slightly cloudy honey yellow body, yeast on the bottom could be swirled out....nose rather mild with some ongoing cardomom, coriander, various fruity esthers, minimal yeast or hops....tastes heavily of multiple spices and multiple fruits, apples, apricots included, finishes dry....mouthfeel is very effervescent and light. A good beer, but I need to taste it next to Duvel. It seems a bit more toward a Triple than the origional Strong Golden style. FortyFirkins (25), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2009 12oz bottle. Poured cloudy and deep orange with a quickly dissipating white head. I caught oranges and yeast in the nose. Taste is a little unbalanced for me, with the normal belgian sweet/spice flavors subdued with too-punchy carbonation and a hint of sourness. I’ve had it on tap before and much preferred it then. DSG (1514), Tel Aviv, Israel

Cloudy yellow color. Aroma of fruits, a bit of yeast and some hops. Sweetish fruity flavor, a bit over-spicy, with some malt and honey notes. Medium-bodied.
