Commercial Description:
Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers' art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that results in a floral nose, a full fruity flavor and a clean finish.

Pours a little hazy golden color in the glass with a big fat head, not a ton of retention though, but the decent lace makes up for this. The aroma has a light hop character and a little bit of sweet floral fragrance. The flavor is pretty good; it is simple enough to ’’throw one back’’ if you will. but there is enough going on here that it’s a bit of a thinker. There are some strong spicy flavors with some clove and a little lemongrass. There is a tad bit of tart sourness, just a little bit in the back of the mouth. A little bit of alcohol and a fruity but not too sweet flavor rounds it off. I don’t know why but it reminds me a little bit of an Americanized Duvel.

Very good attempt at the style. Nice aroma. Typical flavor. Nice and light makes it very drinkable. Not too heavy on the alcohol. Worth a try.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma was dried fruit, roasted malts and some hops. The flavor was well balanced with sugary malts, dark fruits, hops, and a touch of yeast. Overall, an excellent beer. Excellent!

tasting at GDBTF on 10/18/08. golden pour with 1/4’’ white head. a little spice and citrus quality, but not as much as I’d like. this would not be in my radar at the store, but a decent Belgian style golden ale.

Heavily carbonated yellowish-orange beer with a foamy white head. Fruit and malt in the flavor with a dry snap at the end. Kind of blase but not awful.

Pours an extremely hazy lemon yellow/sunshine orange with white head. Aroma is reminiscent of a dark malty beer. Roasted malts are present in the aroma with notes of fruit (mostly apple is what I pick up). I also pick up earthy mineral notes. Flavor is yeasty with fruity notes (sugared apple). There is a floral edge to it that balances any fruity tartness. Body is creamy but not syrupy and medium to high carbonation. A decent golden ale in my book.

A very surprising brew! Pours a golden ORANGE hue with a small white head which quickly became a laced ring. Spicy aroma with a hint of banana and apple fruits. Full bodied palate with a long, sweet finish. A wonderful balance between sweet and bitter, keeps my taste buds searching. Overall a great microbrew that i randomly picked up. Recommended!
