Aroma is reminiscent of a dark malty beer. Roasted malts are present in the aroma with notes of fruit (mostly apple is what I pick up). I also pick up earthy mineral notes. Flavor is yeasty with fruity notes (sugared apple). There is a floral edge to it that balances any fruity tartness. Body is creamy but not syrupy and medium to high carbonation. A decent golden ale in my book. movezig (137), Pensacola, Florida, USA

Pours a golden ORANGE hue with a small white head which quickly became a laced ring. Spicy aroma with a hint of banana and apple fruits. Full bodied palate with a long, sweet finish. A wonderful balance between sweet and bitter, keeps my taste buds searching. Overall a great microbrew that i randomly picked up. Recommended! bradlyc77 (226), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 18, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice golden hue, very carbonated w/ very little/no head. Nice yeasty flavor w/ some citrus/floral qualities. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 17, 2008 (Bottle). Fruity/floral aroma. Light orange body, almost no head. Flavor is ripe pear, lots of carbonation, somewhat similar in overall taste to Duvel, but lacks the complexity and sophistication. Still, a pretty good brew. durhambeer (1227), Durham, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2008 Bottle. Hazy golden pour with orange tint. Yummy citrus on the nose as well as a bit of hops and tons of bready yeast. Bananas and spice. As others have noted, this is not the most complex beer around, but it’s quite flavorful and easy to drink. I also think I tend to like Belgian golden ales more than most folks. Seems to be an underappreciated style. branspra (232), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2008 Bottle. Huge head with golden body color. Aromas of vanilla, citrus, banana, and flowers. Lively taste with a short duration on the palate. Good but not great Belgian beer. beer4me (8), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Not a great Belgian style ale in my opinion. When I poured it, my hopes were up. It poured with a nice rocky white head on it. Sadly within seconds the head disappeared. Something not quite right there? Taste? A little too sweet and lacking in depth for me. I have always enjoyed beers from this first class brewery, but this one is not one i would buy again. Not quite as complex as a real Belgian brew either.
