Commercial Description:
Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers' art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that results in a floral nose, a full fruity flavor and a clean finish.

12 oz poured hazy light golden color. Little to no nose: a bit of bread and clove. Slightly sweet and yeasty flavor. NIce carbonation bite to it. Average belgian style.

pours opaque clear with mid sized white head. aroma is very mild, malty, small banana and spice. very mellow clean flavor, dominated by yeasty flavors. this beer thankfully lacks the trademark belgain overcarbonation.

12oz bottle. Almost clear orange-gold, with a small white head that dissipates quickly and leaves scant foam. Apple seems to be the theme of the aroma: pineapple, caramel apple, some fuji in there too, maybe some straight Martinelli’s sparkling cider; just a little banana too. It’s cool, but a little weird too. The flavor is sweet pale malt with a sticky fruitiness over it that is a little indistinguishable. Alcohol comes in the finish and mixes in with the sweetness to almost dry out the finish, but not quite. The mouthfeel is pretty fizzy, but has some body, though light for the strength. If I wanted a Belgian Golden ale, and this was the only option, I would give it another go, otherwise I’m not so sure.

Hazy golden in the glass with dense white head and a sweet/fruity aroma. Spicy, fruity, citrus flavor, malty and sweet with a dry finish. A slight presence of alcohol reminds you this is no small beer.

12 oz. Foggy, orange-amber with a small, lasting head. Aroma is waxy citrus fruit, resin and sweetened cereal. Flavor is initially bubblegum with harsh citrus oil and resin. After a few sips turns to a much more pleasant apple cider with grape, a lighter bubblegum presence, and a more subtle resin and citrus peel balance. A not unpleasant candlewax and apple core aftertaste. Light-medium body is too frothy and finishes dry.

Golden pour, offwhite head. Light aromas of honey and malt. Spicy and sweet. Not overwhelming, but enjoyable.

(Bottle from Tully’s) Pours cloudy amber-gold with a pretty thin off-white head. Aroma is fairly sweet, fruity, some yeast, light banana/bubblegum. Mouthfeel fairly light and a bit dryish. Thin but sturdy sheets of lacing. Flavor is kind of sweet and fruity with some yeast but kind of so-so. Maybe a touch of citrus. Basically kind of a run of the mill Belgian-style.

bottle. Pours a bright golden straw color, thin fizzy head that clears pretty quick, leaving a decent ring. Light aromas of candi sugar sweetness, some apricots and orange peels. Flavors tend more towards the sharp side, some pepper, yeasty notes, a decent amount of booze, some grainy sweetness, and a touch of floral hop notes. Very well balanced across the flavors. Clean enough on the palate, a bit on the thick side. Very enjoyable brew.
