Commercial Description:
Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers' art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that results in a floral nose, a full fruity flavor and a clean finish.

12oz bottle. pours slightly hazed bright golden with white head. aroma is oddly lemony, slight musty-yeasty, some flowers and candi sugar. flavor is sweet candi sugar, lemon and orange, and a bit perfumey. med body that is slightly syrupy. didn’t really enjoy this.

12oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a clear golden yellow. Nose of banana, citrus peel and Belgian yeast. A crisp and lightly yeasty finish.

Cloudy dark yellow with a slowly dissipating white head leaving spotty lacing. Smell is sour, has overripe fruit, banana, lemon, and a yeasty aroma to it. Taste is of bananas, lemons, and apples, definately some clove as well, very nice. Mouthfeel was light in body and had an average carbonation. Definitely drinkable, a solid brew to have once in a while, definitely worth picking up.

A delicious strong ale from my friends at North Coast. Doesn’t live up to most real Belgians, but still is quite complex with notes of orange, grapefruit, bitter hops, and a little old lady perfume just for fun. A good drink by anyone’s standards.

Pours a hazy gold with lots of carbonation and a moderate bright white head with decent lacing. Aroma is yeasty, but really none of the fruity notes you would expect from the style. Flavor is similar--slightly astringent, yeasty and maybe just a bit of spice, but again noticeably lacking in floral or fruity flavors. It’s possible I just got a bad bottle, but I was disappointed in this one.

Golden pour with a finger thick white head. Carbonation. Some yeast on the nose. I did not find this to be a good example of a Belgian style.
