Commercial Description:
Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers' art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that results in a floral nose, a full fruity flavor and a clean finish.

One of the first really amazing brews from the West Coast I tried. Not over the top blow the mind, but a great six pack style Belgian. Candy like to a certain extent. Yum for what it is!!

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 26 Sep 2009) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with tropical fruit, pineapple and citrus. Fruity, slightly malty taste with notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus and a sweet, spicy finish. Slightly above medium body, on the sweet side. Tasty and refreshing, not overly complex but a nice beer.

Clouded banana yellow pour. Light Belgian fruit scent. May be too cold at the moment. Taste has a sweet fruity element to it. Flavor remains through the finish. Aftertaste is slightly bitter but for the most part is decent. Turns more bitter as it warms. Also more alcohol and bitter fruit notes come out on the nose.

Bottle. Golden pour with smallish white head. Sweet Belgian aroma. Tastes vaguely Belgian, honey, sweet, bready. Not complex enough.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a darker amber hiding in it, little to no head. Aroma is a bit bready and sweet malts. Notes of citrus, english hops, sweet orange peels, and maybe corriander. On the palate, it is a little dry, but still refreshing. The flavor brings out the malts and also has a bit of cedar quality to it. It finishes kinda tangy and a little dry. Overall, very good. I enjoyed it compared to the last one I drank (New Glarus R & D Golden). Very sessionable.

Pours yellow/gold white medium white head. This stuff has the sweet blend that I don’t like, but alas I must try as my wife digs this style. Rating is hers.

Very clear, bright yellow look with a foamy, pillowy head. No carbonation. It looks thin and see-through for its style. There is a smattering of lace. The smell is of a spicy Belgian ale nature. Some bitterish hops. It’s a golden Belgian ale mixed with a bitter pilsner. Some nice spicy citrus comes out with some agitation. Practically bubbles in the nose. Flavor continues the sweet Belgian tradition, again with some bittery pilsner hops. Matches the smell to a tee. Has a combination of spicy Belgian, spicy orange, bitter hops and a pungent fizzy flavor. Feels fizzy and thick. Warm like whiskey on the way down. It’s a sipper because of its thick, creamy fizzyness. Has a decent bitter/spicy combination. It’s really not my thing, but good enough.
