Commercial Description:
Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers' art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that results in a floral nose, a full fruity flavor and a clean finish.

bottle poured a caramel golden in color with a nice thick one finger head of white froth and steady mid range carbination. aroma has lemon peel, yeast, light spice, sweet fruit like apple and pear. taste is medium mouth feel but has good body, creamy smooth mid with plenty of carbination, citrus peel, and nice yeasty flavors, has a little grass, and finishes dry with some hop bitter and spice. i think a really nice beer, holds to the style, another real nice one from north coast. first Christmas day brew.

The light body is topped off with a thick white head, but the head leaves quickly. This beer smells very nice with the typical hints of sweetness and a lot of yeast and dough. There is also a little bit of a floral aroma, but I can’t figure out what kind. The flavor is much different than I expected and is much more dry than I expected. $7.99 4-pack at Haskell’s Pine Ridge Road Naples, FL.

In short: A fruity and sweet bland generic Belgian Blonde Ale.
How: Bottle, about 6 months old (probably too old)
The look: Partly cloudy dark-orange with almost no head.
In long: Rather yeasty beer. Fruity flavours are those little dried oranges cubes, some bananas and some apple juice. Some bubblegum. The beer is probably not spiced but it sure appears to be with notes of coriander, ginger and more. Carbonation is tickling but somehow the body feels rather lifeless. Rather sweet overall with some residual sugar in the finish. Could be because my bottle wasn’t fresh (although 6 months of age shouldn’t be a big deal for a Belgian Strong) but the beer felt kind of dead. This beer just isn’t much fun. And what good is a Pranqster when isn’t much fun?

Cloudy & golden, w fuzzy, medium head. Nose of cider, pears, golden delicious apples. Awesome flavor, with more sweetness & maltiness than I had expected, becoming lightly, quite pleasurably tart & citrusy towards the end. Another winner from N. Coast.

This reminded me of a hefeweizen more than a Belgian Strong Ale. Very cloudy, hazy golden pour with a very persistent head and some decent lacing. This smells just like a Hefe. I had to check the bottle to make sure I had the Pranqster. Very yeasty with a strong banana aroma to this. Nice clean taste to this one. A little bitter on the front end and finishes pretty smooth. This isn’t one of my favorites but it wasnt bad either. This isn’t my favorite North Coast brew by far (Rasputin!) but it was OK.

From a stubby 12-oz. glass bottle--Poured a clouded golden-copper body with a wispy, filmy white head. Sweet grainy honey floral notes. Rich, complex flavor slightly boozy, partly sour and yeasty. Predominate grain textures on the palate. Great hops balance. Excellent beer!
