The yeast is what makes this beer. I can see how some may not like it. I, on the other hand, think it is great. It seems to go almost in a Witbier direction with the unfiltered appearance, but despite this the fruit and floral flavor is a nice change. ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2007 Highly rated but hardly impressive. Pours a golden yellow color with a moderate sized white head. Smells of yeast, sugar, malt, and flowers. Taste is offensive and unbalanced. Like eating a fist full of flowers with the sour yeast from a tripel. scrizzz (1337), kirkland, Washington, USA

Light vanilla, oranges, yeasty and well balanced. If Leffe had any class, it would taste like this. Superb MikeF (528), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

deep golden, opaque. off white moderate head. aroma of spice and belgian yeast. slightly lacking in robustness of flavor, ie comes off slightly thin. However contains all the rich yeasty, malty, fruit components of a belgian strong, just to a lesser degree. Chapel (330), Levittown, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2007 Pours a smoky orange with a yellow head that vanishes slowly. Mostly yeasty aroma. Flavor of pine and cloves with just a hint of alcohol. There is nothing unique about this beer except for the fact that it seems to drink so quickly. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2007 Bottle poured into a Chimay goblet. Pours a hazy amber orange with a thin, fine, ivory head that reduces to a lasting white skin at the surface maintained by a constant supply of tiny bubbles. The nose is a nice, lightly spicy Belgian yeast with fruity esters of pear, citrus and light bubble gum, with a hint of candy sugar and blended floral notes tying the whole thing together. It smells much like a tripel. The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium-bodied with a nice, soft, tongue-coating carbonation of tiny bubbles and a clean, yeasty finish. The flavor is sweet and yeasty with notes of pear, peach, bubble gum, white pepper and floral hops lingering lightly at the mildly dry finish. It’s a tasty beer and probably my third favorite offering from North Coast, behind Old Rasp and Old Stock.
