Commercial Description:
Belgian Ales represent the height of the brewers' art. Sophisticated brewing techniques, yeast blends and unique flavoring elements have elevated the beers of Belgium to the status enjoyed by wine in other countries. PranQster follows in this tradition using a mixed culture of antique yeast strains that results in a floral nose, a full fruity flavor and a clean finish.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 7/27/09

Aroma: Yeast, citrus, honey, spice
Appearance: Cloudy orange color, minimal white head, no lacing
Flavor: Decent flavor, malty mostly, spice
Palate: Medium to full bodied, a bit of an alcohol burn
Overall Impression: Tasty, but not overly exciting, a nice beer, I enjoyed this one, but it wasn’t worth the price I paid for it. Decent enough...

Pours an eggshell white head with legs and a dark straw color body with particulates. Smells of yeast and dried fruit. Flavor is honey, figs, light dried fruit, little zest.

750ml bottle 7/6/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours orange with a small white head and an aroma of yeast, floral, and citrus. Taste of yeast, hops, and citrus. This full bodied brew has a nice touch of hops thrown in and it is very well balanced. Nice job.

Poured out a medium sized bubbly white head that has ok retention and minor lacing. Somewhat hazy golden gold....er.... The aroma is seriously lacking - way to mellow. Sweet, citrus, yeast, slight spice. The aroma is nice but waaaaaay to light. Now that this has warmed it is way better tasting. But still, there is an immediate aftertaste that ruins this for me. It seems to be almost metallic. Better now that I swirled in the sediment. Much softer now. Great yeasty flavour, minor spice - my flavour mark just went from 5 to 8. Nice thick citrus taste, great yeast once again, mild spice, i can see pears, now this is yumzers. Mouth feel when from over carbonated with a horrid aftertaste to soft with nice smooth middle (malty) and finishes excellently. A must re-review.

Found a 22 oz bottle of this at my local shop. Pours a golden orange color with a thick, frothy, white head atop the beer. Aroma is strong from the bottle with a pronounced yeasty nose coming out, spicy cinnamon, clove and orange, sweet caramel and dark candy sugar notes abound as well with the light ester notes really bringing out the sweetness quite well. Flavor has an estery and yeasty note up front with a dark candy sugar and malt sweetness in the middle followed up by a pretty spicy clove and light green grape fruitiness at the end. Density is a light heavy feeling with a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall a very solid brew for the style and for the price, a very cheap, good beer for the style as well.

Aroma of apricots, orange peel and floral yeast. Appearance was golden with a head that dissipated quickly. Flavor is mainly apricot, with coriander and orange accents, especially in the finish. Palate is lively and bubbly as it sits on the tongue. Pretty darn good for an American Belgian. Went well with my grilled chicken and curry couscous.
