Commercial Description:
Malt and hops are beautifully married in this full-bodied, copper-red Pale Ale. Red Seal Ale is generously hopped in the traditional manner for a long, spicy finish.

On tap at North Coast, CA: Ruby, ruddy red, off-white bubbles and thin head, tangy aroma. Medium-light bodied, sour cherry and cider vinegar malt, and brackish hop tones.

Well done. Gold body/white head. Nice malt caramel with fruit aroma. Good recipe. Nice mix between flavors, body and aroma. Will purchase again.

One of my absolute favourite american pale ales. Wonderful tastes of caramel, citrus, cascade-hops. A pale ale close to perfcection.

A decent ale by an excellent brewery. Nothing really too exciting going on here, just your usual grapefruit bitterness and ultra-hoppiness. I could see how one who liked the style would just love this stuff. For me, it’s good but not soul-stirring.

Nice copper color with bubbly off white head. Aroma is sweet malt and some grassy hops. Nice smooth, sweet caramel flavor, with a nice slightly bitter finish. Very crisp and refreshing, wish I had more.

355 ml bottle - Transparent amber beer with a good sized head. Aroma is full of cascade hops and grapefruit. Flavor leans towards a balanced caramel maltiness and again cascade hops and grapefruit. Good example of an american pale ale. I personally always use it to introduce Am. pale ales to unblessed friends.

North Coast Red Seal Ale 6/13/08 (bottle. Pours an apricot color with a rocky cream colored head. Smells of orange, tangerine, flowers and some malt. Delicious semi-sweet flavors that are complemented with some roasts and hop finish. Lots of fruit on the palate. Finishes slightly bitter and very refreshing. A very nice red ale.
