The hop flavor really dominates this beer, although I feel that it really captures the sweetness of the hop on the mid-palate. A curious APA and probably one of the more memorable of the style. pamoja (57), Rochester, New York, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Updated: Dec 2, 2007Bottle. I tried one of these for the first time in many years. As I have become a hop fanatic, I have been trying more and more IPAs and IPA2s, somewhat forgetting some of the other ales from the past such as this. Pours a deep amber with generous off-white head. Aroma is a balance of malt and hops as is the flavor. While it seems to lean slightly to the malt side of things, there is always a nice hop presence backing the malt. It finishes with hoppy aftertaste that I quite enjoyed. This is what an IPA fan should drink in place of Brown ales/Amber ales/Octoberfests. jwdevalue (158), Neptune, New Jersey, USA

I found it had a hop-fruit nose with a melon & spice flavour with hints of cinnamon and a long finish. Very enjoyable. BeerandBlues2 (3225), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
