Commercial Description:
Malt and hops are beautifully married in this full-bodied, copper-red Pale Ale. Red Seal Ale is generously hopped in the traditional manner for a long, spicy finish.

bottle. pours translucent amber with a nice amount of carbonation for this style. Aroma of some malts ... could be better. Lacing that sticks around. Drinks almost like an IPA. Very subtle bright hop flavor stays in your mouth. What a nice surprise.

This is a wonderfully crisp and hoppy american pale, with hints of citrus, pine, and some bitter floral notes. The pour leaves a pillowy off-white head above a transparent amber coloured body. The lacing coated the side of the glass the whole way down, but I did drink this one very slowly as I had it with a meal. The finish is VERY long, leaving behind tons of piney, citrusy hops that are almost spicy.

Bottle. Pour was a nice bright copper color that was crystal clear. Head was white and maybe half an inch high. Quickly dissipating, leaving no lacing. The aroma was slightly sweet with a slight bit of piney hops coming through. The flavor was clearly past its prime. Where there should have been sweet malts, there were none. Hops remained and offered up a tiny bit of citrus and cedar. Mouthfeel was overly carbonated and astringent. Everyone talks about this beer being such a solid session brew that I’m going to have to rerate it after I get ahold of a fresh bottle/keg of it.

12oz Bottle. The smell of this beer was wonderful, but the taste was on the bitter side. It looks great, and is easy to drink. The aftertaste lingers for a bit. I’d pick something else out next time I go to the store.

Bottle. I think this is a great beer, my favorite session brew so far. The little beer that drinks like a big beer. Reddish brown looks very good in a footed pilsner. To me it’s delicious, tastes like an IPA. Slightly bitter but overall a well-balanced mix of hops and citrus. A little thin in the mouth with the proper amount of carbonation. Good Beer!

Bottle...pours red and a little cloudy, whitish head, hoppy at first with a bitter finish with the flavor of orange rind. This was my favorite beer ten years ago and it still holds up even after all the new offerings here in NC...a true classic!

12oz bottle. Pillowy cream-colored head for this dark copper brew. Mild aroma. Bitter taste, but very clean, almost thin, in the mouth. Finish lingers a bit, hoppy and bitter. Not bad.

350 mL bottle. Reddish amber with fluffy white head. Faint hoppy aroma. Taste is soapy bitter without the malt to balance it.
