Citrus, floral aroma - suggesting a strong hop taste. Clean amber appearance with little carbonation - hinting at a well balanced brew. The bitterness of hops is apparent and full throughout. A clean finish but there is something unique. If this makes any sense, the taste is hops first, then something much milder, more malty, and then a strong hop finish. Not bad.

Mild nose of hops and malt. Copper colored body. Flavor is nicely hoppy and is balanced off by a spicy maltiness.

Jul 2, 2008 Bottled. Red/Amber/Orange. Small head. Aromas are malty. Flavor is good and easy, sessionable beer as it’s only 5.5%. A good decent mild red pale ale.

Jul 2, 2008 12z bottle. Clear with a ruby, orange hue. Finger width of off white head. Sweet citrus hop nose. Sugar and caramel as well. Mild malt roast with a definite citrus hop note. Lively and crisp. Malt side is sweet with a sugar and caramel flavor. The hops have a resinous, fruity, piny flavor.

Jul 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours clear orange/amber with pillowy, off-white head, half a finger. Citrus and caramel nose orange and slight choclate chip. Nice caramel malt body with mild hint of chocolate malt, followed by a moderate to high bitter and lots of piny, citrusy, and spicy hop flavor. Great body and good lacing. This is a huge surprise of an American Pale Ale. I really wasn’t expecting this. Much better than standard, and bordering on very good. Nice surprise. I shall get more!

Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Light, hazy copper pour with a lasting off-white, frothy head. Fairly simple aroma of citrus and grain, mostly grapefruit, orange and cookie. The flavor is lightly to moderately bitter, lightly sweet and moderately acidic. Bitter finish. Very dry to the point of being slightly metallic. Medium body and watery texture. Lively carbonation. Nice enough. Straightforward APA with nothing to distinguish itself from the rest of the pack other than a lack of glaring flaws.
