Commercial Description:
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

Oh so this is what a Pilsener is really supposed to taste like!?! This is still a style i’ve neglected seriously for a long time. Picked this up the other day at the store, because really you cant go wrong with North Coast. This stuff is very crisp and delicious. Nice light crisp hop presense but very light almost biscuity/orangy malt hints also.

Bottle shared by The_captain. Thanks Mark (I guess). Pours light straw with a big foamy head. Smells like death. Death! Terrible tasting beer, if you can even call it that. Awful awful stuff.

On tap at Redlight. Pours a nice straw gold with a thick white head. Light hops, slightly malty with hints of lemon in the aroma. Crisp clean taste, malty with a hint of fruitiness. I am not a pilsener fan by any stretch, but on a hot humid day in Florida, this was very refreshing.

On tap @ Yard-House Irvine. Pours golden with small white head. Sweet aroma. Flavor of sweet oranges. Smooth palate. Pilsners aren’t my favorite, but I wouldn’t refuse one on a hot summer day.

A tasty orange lager with medium viscosity that is not entirely clear. A little cloudy. The main aspect of flavor is of orange marmalade and honey. Very light, smooth, and drinkable. Would have again.

Average beer great for a hot day right after you mow the grass. Clean taste and good mouthfeel make you want another. Good everyday beer.

Pours hazy golden color with white head. Mild bread and grass aromas. Slightly sweet with a little bitterness. Light body with a good amount of carbonation. Nice and refreshing, a solid pilsener
