Commercial Description:
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

12 oz bottle via Capital Market. Pours pretty clear amber with a huge white fluffy head that leaves gobs of lace on the mug. Nice floral/earthy pils nose. Taste is a bit sweeter than a typical pils. A somewhat grainy malt-base. Thin body, medium carbonation. An ok Pils but a bit too watery for my taste. More like a decent session backyard bbq beer.

A quality pilsener. Not watery, and a grainy flavor. Light malt body, and at times has almost a wheat texture to it.

Quite disappointed by this North Coast offering. In short, it poured, smelled tasted and lingered like a highly-advertised, poorly brewed BMC lager. Grainy nose and taste, with few redeeming points. Might make an okay thirst quencher if served very cold on a very hot day, but I doubt that I’ll try to find out.

Pours a hazy honey color with only a slight head that quickly reduces to a thin white ring. Lacing is sparse but fine and even. Aroma is standard pilsner, light grain, and slightly sweet. A bit-o-honey hint as well. Flavor is very light, but slightly tart and a little hoppy. Carbonation is moderate to soft and the fel is light and a bit thin. Aftertaste is a cardboard and honey flavor.

Bottle. Pours gold with a huge billowy white head. Lively carbonation streaming up the sides and middle of the glass. The head is here to stay, there is at least 1 finger through the entire drink. Smell is faint biscuits and a pretty strong noble hops presence. Taste is the same smooth light malt with more sweetness than expected to a very slight low alpha hops presence at the back. This beer finishes extremely smooth, similar to a wheat in the back of the throat. Palate is medium with lively carbonation. Not bad for a pilsener. Very drinkable

Pours a crisp golden color with a thin fizzy white head. Slight grassy malt aroma with citrus notes. Nice smooth, and slightly sweet flavor. Feels great on the tongue, with a nice dry finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear golden color with a medium fizzy white head that disappears. The aroma is mildly malty, lightly hoppy on the floral side, with some doughy bread. The flavor was rather subdued: Mildly sweet, a hint of bitterness, rather unexiting. Light body, watered down. I’m not a pilsner fan, and this does nothing to change my opinion.
