The aroma is of bready grain, wet straw and light grassy hops. Light-bodied and thin with a crisp dry finish, the flavor is an effervescent bready malt front with a lightly grassy and dry conclusion. A decent pilsner with a mild hop presence, but it’s a tad too dry for my tastes. I like the whale tooth carving on the label used to tie in with the name. MrBunn (1542), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Bottle. Golden color with a frothy white head that is lacing nicely as it diminishes. Aromas of bread dough-malt and a hops presence that is a little bit skunky. Flavor is fairly heavy for a pilsner... malt presence is big, and hops come through with a slightly lemon and peppery spicing to finish things off. Very nice and full pils. cfree19 (1), LaVergne, Tennessee, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Great tasting beer.100% recommend. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Draught at Collins, NYC. Yellowish golden colour with a slight haze. Coarse medium-sized white head. Crisp citrusy and grassy hop aroma. Little malts. More citrus flavour. Very light-bodied. The hops are there, but they do not stand out in any way. Finish is a bit watery and thin. Malts never get a say. troopie (888), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Bottle. Faint malty aroma. mild flavour without much bitterness. Quick disappearing finish. Not what I’d expect in a pilsener. A bland, unoffensive session bier. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Smell is fresh, clean, slightly malty and a bit more hoppy. Taste is smooth, clean, with a mild hop flavor. There isn’t a big bitter bite, like in a lot of pilsners, but it is simple and refreshing. A touch of hops and sweetness in the finish. A great easy drinking session beer. I really like this one, even though its not exactly what I’d expect in a pilsner.
