Commercial Description:
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

Pours a slightly cloudy lemon yellow in color with and odd malty cardboard aroma. Clean, crisp & a slight herbal aftertaste. Overall it’s not bad but nothing overly exciting.

A smooth and easy-drinking somewhat Americanized version. My dad thought this was quite good - and he looooves Miller High Life... so... yeah.

Bottle at Mellow Mushroom. Not at all impressed. Prefer Victory over this any time.

Clear and golden on the pour with streaming bubbles and a short head. No lacing. The aroma was grassy, herbal hops and some lighter sugars. Not much in the spicy hops happening. The flavor is also benign, with light earthy hops and some sugary sweetness. Thin body. Easy drinking. Very unexciting.

Pours transparent gold with a white head. Nose is light malt, some sweetness, grass, hay, all that pilsner stuff. Flavor is dry with light malt, hops, grass, bread, and some barely noticeable floral hops.

Draft at Beer Bistro. Funny, I thought I had had this one before but I guess not. Pours a clear gold with a sticky white head. Nose is soft and grainy with a kiss of noble hops. Straight forward and a touch sweet. Soft. Nice floral hop notes on the way down. Pretty nice stuff, finish is pretty dry.

On tap at Sheffield’s. Poured a light clear gold with a white head. Aroma had a combination of malts and hops but the malts are more prevalent leading to a grainy aroma. Flavor was crisp and a bit dark for a pils with a nice dry finish.
