Commercial Description:
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

Pours golden-copper, minimal head. Aroma is yeasty and warm. Flavor is prickly and dry, with some nice hop bitterness. Very well balanced and drinkable.

Cloudy and golden. Chewy for its light color, still medium bodied. Tastes rather wheaty for a pilsner. Balanced but otherwise unremarkable.

Medium yellow pour with rapidly diminishing fizzy white head. Nose is light — malty grain, light floral. Flavor is sweet with only a light bitterness. Lively carbonation and thin texture. Medium body. Not near as bold or complex as better pilseners, but highly drinkable.

Cloudy golden pour with an initially active and efferescent appearance. Bread and light grain aroma as well as some fruit. Creamy mouthfeel. Buttery up front with some honey towards the middle. Finish is smooth, long and bland. Not bad, overall. Slightly underrated I think.

12 oz. bottle: Can’t say I’m real impressed with this one - it seems lacking from the start. Pours a dull gold with a fading head. Some earthy Munich overpowers what evidence of Noble hops is in the nose. Thin body, low carbonation is a bad combo. The malts are a bit more buttery/caramel in the body, but the lack of hop presence persists. I love delicate lagers, but this one is a bit too delicate.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with awaisanen (thanks!). Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of grain/wheat and lemons. Tastes follow suit with some grassiness.

Pours golden with a white head. The aroma is faint with the barest hint of hops. The flavor is weak and at times watery.
