Commercial Description:
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with a fluffy white head. Light aroma of malt. Drinks smooth with just a pinch of hops on the aftertaste. Very nice.

(Bottle) Pours a golden color with a small, but persistant head. Nice palate and mouthfeel, but some dry metallic notes. Very similar to typical German pilsners, but nothing really special about it.

Aroma of lager. Tarnished gold color with little head. That said it was relatively substantial. Slightly malty, slightly hoppy. The finish was lightly hoppy. For a lager it’s drinkable. Way better than Budweiser.

Bottle. Pours gold with decent white head. The aroma is sweetish malt with hints of light fruit. The flavor is sugary sweet with some raw grain and hay. It dries out a little in the finish. Ok.

Hazy, gold color, with a very thin head that left a minimal lace. Mild, clean citrus aroma. Initial flavor is that of a mild citrus rind, and then some malts show up after that. The finish is a very gentle hop bitterness. Good carbonation, and very refreshing. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m a bit tired of all the citrus notes I’ve detected in so many beers lately, I’d probably rate this one higher.

Bottle. Pours dark yellow with nice white head that left decent lacing. Noe of malt, yeast, and hops. Kind of reminded me of a German Pils. Dry from front to back, and very nice mouthfeel. Very refreshing and well made pils.

Slight haze to this mostly yellow beer with a thick white head. Some notes of grass and green apple in the aroma. Pretty straight forward pils with just a hint of hop bitterness. There’s not much to say other than this is a typical micro pils offering.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy honey color with a thin head. Light but pleasant aroma of malt and a touch of yeast. The initial flavor was light malt followed by a touch of citrus. Dry, crisp finish.
