Commercial Description:
Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition from Munich and Klages malts, Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque golden color with a light white head that dissipates rather quickly. Malty flavor, slightly grassy/earthy, goes down easy, a little too easy, kind of flat. Light-bodied. Not very impressive.

Drain pour for me. Might have been tainted. Very thin, watery with corn malty flavor.

Bottle. Poured with a half finger off white head, body a cloudy deep golden color. Very grassy earthy nose. Slightly thin or watery in the mouth, but acceptable hop flavor for a pils. I’ve had better and worse, but overall, fairly average.

Poured from 12 oz, Light golden , yellow color with small white head. Faint nose of citrus, sharp taste, just a bit hoppy. Not too bad, nice alternative to Mexican beer.

Clear golden pour, wispy white head with some retention and lacing. Faint aroma of sweet malt and yeast, not much to speak of otherwise. Flavour has a very faint suggestion of European hops, but is dominated by a slightly nondescript malty sweetness. Mouthfeel is light with tingly carbo. Neither here nor there, really. Meh.

This bubbly yellow beer poured with a decetn white head and a faint floral aroma. There is a slightly skunky caramel malt flavor with some grassy hop bitterness.

Tap @ Clocktower Cellar in Mammoth. Poured clear yellow-gold with a short, puffy white head. Average lacing. Floral, sweet grass and lemon peel aroma blended with the pilsner grain and hops. Well carbonated mouthfeel without stickiness. Clean, lemony-citrus taste throughout, strong yeast and grassy hops as well. Pleasant cereal grain flavor towards the finish. Sweet, dry finish. A very, very good pilsner

decent color with a nice head. a tad hazy, however. very noticable yeast aroma with a yeasty flavor that masks the hops somewhat. leaves an oily palate.
