Goodgrief (1076), Middletown, Delaware, USA Aug 13, 2008 Beer pours the expected golden yellow with a mild fizzy head. Aroma of sweet pilsner malt, but somewhat subdued. The flavor was typical pilsner malt, sweet. This one was not overly crisp and was a little lacking in the hop flavor department. "Sublte hop character" is right...but this is even for a pilsner. Not bad, though...coulda just used some of those grassy/hay-like hops in there for some character.
Rciesla (1571), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Dec 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a pale golden body with a white head. A light hop bitterness and grassy notes. Thin and grainy eh. thornecb (1290), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Dec 28, 2008 Pours gold into a shaker. Fluffy bright white head with good retention consolidates before receding. Caramel and mild pine aromas. Crisp with fruity caramel upfront turning to a lasting, almost painful, tingling bitter metallic finish. bu11zeye (4066), Frisco, Texas, USA Dec 23, 2008 (12oz bottle, courtesy of Lumpy) Pours a clear pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of mustiness, grass, and toasted grain. Flavor of toasted grain and grassy hops. fidelis83 (221), Clinton, Iowa, USA Dec 20, 2008 Pours a crisp, light to medium gold witha tall rocky, slightly off white head, good retention specks of lacing. Aroma is slightly fruity, with a weak grassy hops, stale saltine crackers, and a wisp of salad greens. Flavor is sweet straw, grassy hops, soapy prairie flower hops, and thistle flower sweetness. Some biscuit and dry bread as well. Finish is biscuit and grass with low bitterness. Body is thin and dry, almost like thick mineral water. Not bad for a session, but a little expensive for that and not all that interesting. GodOfThunder (314), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 18, 2008 On draft at Ravenous Pig, Orlando. Golden golor, clear and smells slightly skunky. Slight maltiness and a good amount of hops. The slight skunk in the bouquet does not transfer into the taste. This is clean and crisp. I am not a huge fan of pilseners, but this is solid.
