kmweaver (1813), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA May 7, 2008 Draft @ Frisco’s. Pours a medium golden-orange color; fizzy, off-white head with solid retention and textured lacing. Kind of a bland aroma: stale malts, cardboard, and some sugar; a touch of herbal hoppiness. Medium mouthfeel: pleasant mineral hoppiness upfront; lively carbonation, very drinkable; some breadiness and sugar underneath; still, reasonably dry, crisp, sessionable pilsener. Medium finish: dry, mineral bitterness, toasty breadiness, and a bit of sugar left over.
polomagnifico (388), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus rind, mineral hops and honey. Honey amber hue with an average sized off-white head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is malty sweet with some honey and caramel. Palate is medium bodied and oily flat. I really liked this one. Nice pineapple tones and bw type character. An intense pilsener. Hank1980 (327), Athens, Georgia, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. Poured deep yellow with a big white head. Aroma is a mix of sweet toast, lemon, vanilla. Flavor is also of light vanilla, with a doughy presence, and some light earthy hops. There is some bitterness in the finish. Mouth is relatively light. Nice pils. FunkyBrewster (109), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a very small white froth. Aroma is sweet and malty and very heavy on the wheat and grain. Flavor starts out very sweet and finishes very sweet. There is a small amount of bitterness in between and some hops linger in the aftertaste. Medium body. This beer is all about the malt and it ends up being too sweet. It wasn’t bad but it was middle of the pack at best. cmillward (143), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Haze free light golden body topped with whit 1-finger head. Aromas of straw, some light hop spice, lightly toasted malts. In flavor, some light maltiness and crisp hop finish. Smooth and crisp, this was an excellent pils. Not my typical beer-of-choice, but good enough to make me seek out other pilsners of good repute. chicagodri (421), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 12, 2008 Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Mild aroma. Obviously pils is not an amazing type of beer, but at least this one actually has some flavor to it. A little bit of hops and mild bitterness. Decent, but nothing special.
