Pacific Northwest Vacation 2007

8/19/2007: North Fork Hefeweizen pours a cloudy marigold color with a dense white head that leaves good lacing effects on the glass. The aroma and flavor exhibit lemon zest and citrus. The flavor is fruity with, light wheat malt, and some banana with a nice, spicy bitterness in the finish. This beer is light on the palate, crisp and refreshing overall.

Draught sample at The North Fork Brewery - Pizzeria - Beer Shrine in Deming, Washington. Rating #9 for this beer...

Draught at the brewpub (just listed as Hefeweizen). Cloudy golden. Sweet and yellow with fard malt profile. Some light banana ester, notes of toffee and metal. Papery finish.

Draft at the brewery
Cloudy and very murky yellow. PEppy, thick, syrupy texture, very yeasty on the tongue. Full bodied and tasting of sour orange juice, lemon juice and hearty wheat. Very juicy. Smells like pure fruit juice actually: pineapple juice, oranges, tangerines and some lime. Interesting and very drinkable.

OnTap at the North Fork. A cloudy light yellow/amber with a slight white film of a head. Lots of fine sheeting lacing. A distinctive belgian yeat aroma but faint and a bit lemony from the wedge they stuck on my glass. Soft unfiltered feel that had very low carbonation and the expected belgian spiciness. All flavors seemed subdued and soft and worked very well togeher.

Sweet flavour, with some banana and clove. Candyish at times, but overall clean and respectable hefe.

Cloudy yellow beer. Loads of banana esters, low on clove spiciness. Citrus, banana flavour. Light refreshing beer.

Had on tap at their brewpub. Excellent brewpub Hefeweizen. Banana-ester aroma - light yellow cloudy appearance with a fluffy white head. Very thirst quenching. Tart lemony flavor with a nice thick mouthfeel. Very thirst quenching - great after a day of hiking on Mt. Baker.
